Happy Birthday Amelia (and Daddy Too)

Amelia was born on Daddy's birthday...by choice. Really, she was a scheduled c-section so we were able to choose pretty much which day to have her. Happy Birthday to Daddy! With all the birthdays, we had several opportunities to celebrate. Mia loves Ming's, and Daddy gets to eat sushi there. There's something for everyone & we all like the ice cream machine...It's pretty cool.On Amelia's birthday, we invited friends to go with us to our local children's museum. They always love it. I like it, because we can bring in a lunch to eat & I can visit with my friend, while still keeping watch over the kids.We LOVE the Paint Wall. OK, I don't...but the girls REALLY like it, and it's usually our 1st stop.

Birthday Girl
Another outing was dinner at Fuji for a hibachi dinner. Yummy! We thought it would be fun for the kids to watch too.Big fire! Hot! COOL!!!The kids were particularly impressed when our cook stacked the onion slices up & made a volcano.Mia: "WOW!"I got the Sukiyaki Steak...and it was Good. Mmmm...Mia loved her gifts. Her faves were the Barbie from Aunt Katy & the Gameboy (+games) from Mom & Dad.Happy Birthday Daddy...We love you!Red Velvet Cake with cooked Flour Frosting. I think this was my best batch of this frosting ever. I doubled the recipe, because I didn't have enough last year. I think I did well this year. 1/2 Cake & 1/2 Frosting...that's a good ratio, right?

Happy birthday to Bryan and Amelia! What a fun day. My kids would love to go to the children's museum. I guess I should take them one day. And I've never been to a hibachi place before but it looks like it would be a blast!

Now about that yummy looking cake... I've never heard of cooked flour frosting. It looks scrumptious! I may have to try this out. Mmmm....

Chuck E. Cheese...Yay!??!

I decided to suck-it-up and take the family to Chuck E. Cheese for Allison's birthday. In AZ, the kids really liked going to Peter Piper Pizza for pizza & games. We've been here 2 years, and I've managed NOT to make it into Chuck E. Cheese. The kids have asked many times, but it just hasn't happened. So, I thought it would be a treat for them. A friend of mine gave me some coupons & I printed some off the Internet too. We got tons of tokens, pizza & soda for everyone. We had a pretty good time, except for 3 emotional meltdowns - ALL thanks to Mia. One meltdown because she wanted to play a specific game, another when we were down to our last 2 tokens (one for Adelaide & one for Mia). Her final tantrum was on the way out when she changed her mind at the last minute about which prize she wanted (after our turn was over). We'll have to think seriously about another birthday @ Chuck E. Cheese. - Mia says she wants to have her birthday there next month. W

Avery Updates

Avery is thriving, but I find myself busier than ever. Go figure. At her one month checkup, she weighed 8lb 14oz (born 6lb 15oz). Then at her 2 month checkup, she was 10lb 14oz. I don't think I've had a baby grow so fast. We'll have to see how long this keeps up. She's even close to sleeping through the night. Several nights a week, she sleeps for around 7 hours! None of my babies like bathtime . BIG Yawn! Baby bear in her carseat . Allison can't stand to leave her be. She loves her baby sister. Sometimes her eyes don't focus together....My poor little crazy-eyes. Happy baby! She's officially grown out of a few outfits like this one. Sad Baby. Trying to enjoy a litt le playtime. "Look at Mommy Baby!" My Little girls. Floor Dancing Avery needs her binky . Allison is a punk sometimes...She took Avery's sock off, so I made her put it back on. It's a lot harder than it looks.

OK, today is video Friday. I was looking through some video clips with the kids this morning & decided to share a couple of cute ones. This is one of my faves. - This is just typical for Adam when Amelia was born. He loved his little sis SO much. What happened? It's just funny to hear Amelia "whine" as her brother loves on her.
