Something to Read???

I really need to find something else to read. You may (or may not) recall that I posted about having read the 1st, 2nd & 3rd Fablehaven books. I absolutely loved them! Well, I've been waiting patiently for book 4 to come out. It was released Tuesday. I bought it Wednesday. I finished the last 2 chapters Saturday morning.

Now I have a dilemma. What do I read next? I read both The Princess Academy and Goose Girl by Shannon Hale. Should I read, I think the next one is Enna Burning?

Or, a couple of my young women suggested that I read The Seer and the Sword by Victoria Hanley.

Some people have suggested the Inkheart books too, but others have said they were a little slower & kind of boring.

I got book 1 of The Sisters Grimm at the library, but haven't tried it yet. We'll see if it's "too" little-girl for me.

Anyway, fire back with any suggestions you might have, or if you just want to throw in your 2 cents about these. I guess maybe I should just suck-it-up & join "Great Reads". Whatever. I guess we'll see.

Shannon Hale is one of my favorites. She has a grown up book called Austenland which was a fun easy read.
Alanah ATE the Sister's Grimm books up. Book 7 comes out in May and she can't wait. I only read the first one though, just didn't get excited enough to keep going.
Enna Burning started off slow for me, but then really got going.
If you like fantasy, you might like Terry Brooks. I think his big series is called Sword of Shanara.
Let me know if you find anything great.

Some really easy fast books to read are by Gail Carson Levine -- she wrote Ella Enchanted. Everyone in my family liked them. I am sure I could think of more if pressed.

Chuck E. Cheese...Yay!??!

I decided to suck-it-up and take the family to Chuck E. Cheese for Allison's birthday. In AZ, the kids really liked going to Peter Piper Pizza for pizza & games. We've been here 2 years, and I've managed NOT to make it into Chuck E. Cheese. The kids have asked many times, but it just hasn't happened. So, I thought it would be a treat for them. A friend of mine gave me some coupons & I printed some off the Internet too. We got tons of tokens, pizza & soda for everyone. We had a pretty good time, except for 3 emotional meltdowns - ALL thanks to Mia. One meltdown because she wanted to play a specific game, another when we were down to our last 2 tokens (one for Adelaide & one for Mia). Her final tantrum was on the way out when she changed her mind at the last minute about which prize she wanted (after our turn was over). We'll have to think seriously about another birthday @ Chuck E. Cheese. - Mia says she wants to have her birthday there next month. W...

SEW Happy...Some of My "Projects"

It's October, and I DO like Halloween. I think it's fun to dress up & pretend. Sometimes it's a little grotesque & scary or pretty or even silly. This year, I felt like I should embrace my "roundness". I kept thinking of ways I could emphasize my prego belly, and this is what I came up with (for about$7 too). I bought a black T-shirt (used a coupon) at Michaels. I got 1/2 yd of orange fabric for my pumpkin (which could have made 2), then 1/4yd of black, green & orange w/ polka-dots. I knew I already had some Under Wonder (Heat & Bond) stuff at home that I could use. I had an idea of how I wanted it to look, so I actually put the T-shirt on wrong-side-out & marked where I wanted the pumpkin, so I could decide how big to make it. I sewed with black thread to make lines on the pumpkin, just to embellish it a little more. I cut eyes, nose & mouth out of black & ironed it on with under wonder. OK, today is video Friday. I was looking through some video clips with the kids this morning & decided to share a couple of cute ones. This is one of my faves. - This is just typical for Adam when Amelia was born. He loved his little sis SO much. What happened? It's just funny to hear Amelia "whine" as her brother loves on her.
