 I did a carnival theme for Allison's birthday. When the girls first arrived, I gave them a carousel horse coloring page & a paper lunchbag to decorate. Then, we ate corndogs, popcorn, and apples with caramel dip. I painted some metal washers with nail polish and made them into cute little necklaces for the party. I flipped them all face down, and the girls got to go "fishing" for the one they wanted.  We used some empty soda cans for another game. The girls even got to pick little Happy Meal stuffed animals for prizes.  I tried to think of other Midway games at the fair & remembered ones where you won a goldfish or tossed the ball into the fishbowl. I combined that idea with Pin the Tail on the Donkey, and this is what I came up with. I thought it was cute!  We used empty water bottles decorated with duct tape for our bowling pins. I DO realize that it is the middle of September, and I have not taken time to post back to school shots of the kids. We've been living & adjusting, merging our new schedules with our old schedules. Adam is in 6th grade now, which is at the Junior High. I was a little worried for him, just because it's hard to juggle 7-8 different subjects with 6-7 different teachers. So far, he seems to be very responsible & doing very well. Amelia is now in 1st grade, and Adelaide began Kindergarten. Mia loves school and is doing very well. Every Monday, there is an assembly where the Principal talks to the kids, acknowledges birthdays, etc. The kids seem to really like it. On the first day, I had to stay with Adelaide, but I still managed to snap a photo of Mia in her class. Kindergarten only had school for 1 hour on the 1st day. I know it's sad when getting a new appliance is "exciting". Well, our old fridge stopped making ice & Bryan was worried that it was several years old and maybe not worth repairing. I think that he needed an excuse to go buy a new one. Whatever, I'm not complaining. We went window shopping @ a couple of local stores & found this beauty. The sales-guy offered it to us with a discount, because it has a little ding in one of the doors. - Like anyone will notice one it has all my stuff all over it. Ha! So here is our new addition. A black refrigerator with French doors. The drawer freezer, doesn't have as much space as an upright, but when the basement is finished, I'll be able to use the deep-freeze again. So, that's not so bad. I really like having the double fridge width though. For Memorial Day, we were invited to our friends' house for a BBQ party.
