Adelaide is SO funny sometimes. She is very observant & thoughtful. I think she's a little sponge absorbing everything she hears & sees. Church is one place she absorbs LOTS of info. She really is very thoughtful. She seems to hear/see things and ponder them for a time, before asking questions or sharing the things that she has learned. Easter was on General Conference weekend & this last Sunday was our Stake conference, so it's actually been more than 2 weeks since she had her Primary lesson on Easter. Today, we had a couple of very cute conversations that went something like this: A: "Mom, when I die...Will they put me in a tube?" Me: "What?" (Trying to figure out if I heard her right) A: "The people put Jesus in a tube, and then he got resurrected. Will I get in a tube?" Me: "Jesus was put in a tomb, but when you or I die, we'll get buried." A: "And then we'll get resurrected?" About that time, she ...

Yesterday, Daddy was privileged to accompany me & 3 small girls to the dentist. (I'll save all the details for another post...let's just say, I can't be 2 or 3 places @ once, no matter how confident the dentist's office is in their scheduling.) As we were sitting in the waiting room for the 10+ minutes past Amelia's scheduled appt time (+ the 15 we arrived early), Allison started becoming restless (go figure). Even with Monsters Inc. to watch, there was still climbing on chair & tables to be done. At one point, after I told her to stop pulling on Adelaide & not to climb on me, she looks at me & mumbles something (she's very hard to understand a lot of the time). Then, pretty clearly says, "I hate you, mom." I reply with, "I'm sorry." Allison says, "I hate you, mom." Then, leaning over to dad..."I love, dad." I wasn't destroyed or anything. Well, our microwave died last week. We finally bought a new one. It's nice & we got a pretty good price. We were driving home tonight & it was rattling & making LOTS of noise. Adelaide says, "It's our microwave making that noise. - It's giggling & tinkling." Classic...yet another Adelaide-ism to add to my collection. She's so funny.

We had preschool today, and while it has warmed up considerably, I still made Adelaide & Amelia wear their heavy coats this morning. I would've let them wear a jacket or sweater, if they had been hanging up or somewhere that we could find them. I was getting my shoes on while Amelia & Adelaide put on their coats. Allison, not wanting to be left behind, tried to put her coat on too. The trouble was that it was still hanging on the hook! She got one arm in (it was even the right armhole), but couldn't for the life of her get that other arm in. She tried really hard. I just thought it was the funniest thing. Allison is like her siblings in a lot of ways, but she's also very different. She seems SO independent. I know she's turning 2, but she wants to do things for herself. She tries to put her own clothes on (can't yet, but she tries). She has mastered the art of finding something to stand on to get up to the counter. She wants to sit at the counter (on a stoo...

Apparently, my girls want to be part of the Bishop's family. They were playing with their Cinderella & Sleeping Beauty Polly Pocket dolls. Adelaide introduced herself to Mia..."Hello, my name is Cinderella Hafen." To which Mia replied, "I'm Sleeping Beauty Hafen." I know it's probably because they saw their friends in Primary today. But, of all their friends, they chose to be part of Bishop's family?? Is this a bad sign? Seriously though, this is a new year and means new teachers and changing classes for most. Allison has been going to nursery since August (yippee!). Adelaide was in there with her, so she had no problem with separation anxiety or other issues. I am happy to say, that she continues to LOVE nursery...even though Adelaide has moved on, and she is now attending alone. Adelaide is the one I worried about.
