Another Sewing Success

My mother would be so proud...

When I was little, I remember being SO excited when my mom would make me a dress. Well, I am now excited to see my little girls wearing something that I made. I made a dress for Amelia (I sewed my first zipper), a skirt for Adelaide & little red bolero tops for both. They actually turned out really cute.
I love the butterfly fabric. It's so pretty. It's hard to see, but the red boleros have gold on them...I love the way it looks with the gold in the butterfly fabric.
I know, I've been doing a lot of sewing lately. It's just like me. I'll probably do a project or two more, then put the sewing machine away again for a LONG time. I have fabric to make a little jumper for Allison. So, I've got to do that one next....

Girl you have skills!! Those dresses and the little boleros are so cute!!! Almost makes me wish I could sew. ALMOST!! LOL ;0)

They looked so cute yesterday at church. You could tell they were just as proud to wear them as you were to make them. I love when my kids tell other people that I made them something it means they love it too. Good Job!

Kuddos! You did a great job! You SHOULD be proud of yourself! I need to get over my phobia of patterns and make some things too. I can do basic things but nothing too hard. I think I may be asking queen bee to help me alittle. Maybe if I take a few lessons I would be fine.

So cute that they were so excited to wear them too! I too love it when my kids are so excited at the little things that I do that seem so huge to them. Makes all the whining worth it!

Very impressive! I tried sewing clothes in my previous life, but when I see clothes on clearance for a dollar or two, I just cannot bring myself to buy material for more! I don't care about the "joy of accomplishment", I'm too lazy! Way to go couz!

Chuck E. Cheese...Yay!??!

I decided to suck-it-up and take the family to Chuck E. Cheese for Allison's birthday. In AZ, the kids really liked going to Peter Piper Pizza for pizza & games. We've been here 2 years, and I've managed NOT to make it into Chuck E. Cheese. The kids have asked many times, but it just hasn't happened. So, I thought it would be a treat for them. A friend of mine gave me some coupons & I printed some off the Internet too. We got tons of tokens, pizza & soda for everyone. We had a pretty good time, except for 3 emotional meltdowns - ALL thanks to Mia. One meltdown because she wanted to play a specific game, another when we were down to our last 2 tokens (one for Adelaide & one for Mia). Her final tantrum was on the way out when she changed her mind at the last minute about which prize she wanted (after our turn was over). SEW Happy...Some of My "Projects"

It's October, and I DO like Halloween. I think it's fun to dress up & pretend. Sometimes it's a little grotesque & scary or pretty or even silly. This year, I felt like I should embrace my "roundness". I kept thinking of ways I could emphasize my prego belly, and this is what I came up with (for about$7 too). I bought a black T-shirt (used a coupon) at Michaels. I got 1/2 yd of orange fabric for my pumpkin (which could have made 2), then 1/4yd of black, green & orange w/ polka-dots. I knew I already had some Under Wonder (Heat & Bond) stuff at home that I could use. I had an idea of how I wanted it to look, so I actually put the T-shirt on wrong-side-out & marked where I wanted the pumpkin, so I could decide how big to make it. I sewed with black thread to make lines on the pumpkin, just to embellish it a little more. I cut eyes, nose & mouth out of black & ironed it on with under wonder. OK, today is video Friday. I was looking through some video clips with the kids this morning & decided to share a couple of cute ones. This is one of my faves. - This is just typical for Adam when Amelia was born. He loved his little sis SO much. What happened? It's just funny to hear Amelia "whine" as her brother loves on her.
