Labor Day Picnic

Every year, our ward has a Labor Day Picnic at a local park. It is great fun. The Elders Quorum provides the meat, buns & drinks. Every family was supposed to bring something to share. It was a little tricky getting food for the 3 girls at once. Then, Bry had to wait in line. I'm glad Adam is old enough to get his own food. It was crazy, but everything was good. Smile Allison!
I guess it's MY fault for trying to take the picture while he was eating.
Isn't this a cute picture? The girls had a blast playing with their friends.

Allison had to climb quite a bit to get up to the slide she wanted. Bry stayed @ the bottom while I looked down from above. Hey Honey!
I think the High Priests group was in charge of the BINGO game. The kids (and several adults) had a great time playing.
In addition to the food, playground & BINGO, there were other activities. Several of the youth played basketball. A few of them played tag on the playground. And, there was a water balloon fight.

Before I go into that, I have to explain that one of the YM leaders walked away from the little kids' water balloon fight carrying 2-3 full balloons. He was walking toward the playground, and I assumed that he was going to throw them @ some of the YW (he's very competitive & just has that personality). Well, 2 boys came by & each of them had full balloons also. - I sent them after their leader & told them to "get him". Of course, they thought it was hysterical & dashed off. BTW, they got him. Well, this leader & I ended up being 2 of 3 adults that participated with the youth in their water balloon fight. It was so much fun, but I got hit several times by many various people. I didn't really mind though as it was 90 degrees or so.

We had a really good time, but we were grateful to come home & put the kids down for a NAP. How exhausting!

LOL Love the fact that you started a war. Awesome Labor Day picnic we did absolutely nothing!

Chuck E. Cheese...Yay!??!

I decided to suck-it-up and take the family to Chuck E. Cheese for Allison's birthday. In AZ, the kids really liked going to Peter Piper Pizza for pizza & games. We've been here 2 years, and I've managed NOT to make it into Chuck E. Cheese. The kids have asked many times, but it just hasn't happened. So, I thought it would be a treat for them. A friend of mine gave me some coupons & I printed some off the Internet too. We got tons of tokens, pizza & soda for everyone. We had a pretty good time, except for 3 emotional meltdowns - ALL thanks to Mia. One meltdown because she wanted to play a specific game, another when we were down to our last 2 tokens (one for Adelaide & one for Mia). Her final tantrum was on the way out when she changed her mind at the last minute about which prize she wanted (after our turn was over). We'll have to think seriously about another birthday @ Chuck E. Cheese. - Mia says she wants to have her birthday there next month. W...

SEW Happy...Some of My "Projects"

It's October, and I DO like Halloween. I think it's fun to dress up & pretend. Sometimes it's a little grotesque & scary or pretty or even silly. This year, I felt like I should embrace my "roundness". I kept thinking of ways I could emphasize my prego belly, and this is what I came up with (for about$7 too). I bought a black T-shirt (used a coupon) at Michaels. I got 1/2 yd of orange fabric for my pumpkin (which could have made 2), then 1/4yd of black, green & orange w/ polka-dots. I knew I already had some Under Wonder (Heat & Bond) stuff at home that I could use. I had an idea of how I wanted it to look, so I actually put the T-shirt on wrong-side-out & marked where I wanted the pumpkin, so I could decide how big to make it. I sewed with black thread to make lines on the pumpkin, just to embellish it a little more. I cut eyes, nose & mouth out of black & ironed it on with under wonder. OK, today is video Friday. I was looking through some video clips with the kids this morning & decided to share a couple of cute ones. This is one of my faves. - This is just typical for Adam when Amelia was born. He loved his little sis SO much. What happened? It's just funny to hear Amelia "whine" as her brother loves on her.
